Place the ladder / step ladder on a firm level dry surface.

Position the ladder sop that the base wont slip outwards, and with the top resting against a solid surface. Remember the rule '1 out for 4 up'.

Keep your body facing the ladder at all times.

Position the stepladder front on to the work.
Do.....
Keep a secure grip at all times, and use a tool holster or shoulder bag if you need to carry tools.
Do.....
Check that there are no overhead hazards near where you are going to work.
Don't
Put a ladder / stepladder on top of boxes, bricks, or any unstable surface to get more height.
Don't.....
Move the ladder base out from this position – theres more risk of it slipping outwards without warning.
Don't.....
reach out too far forwards or sideways, or stand with one foot on the ladder and the other on something else.
Don't.....
Work sideways on to the work with a step ladder
Don't.....
Put loose tools where they could move or fall and cause injury.
Don't Forget.....
NEVER over reach.
